the never right wing

A rather distinct pattern is emgerging…

  • Tbogg spells it out:
You have to admire the persistence and stamina of the rightwing bloggers who are continously wrong, wrong, wrong everytime that they apply fingertips to qwerty. And yet, time and again, they are still willing to grab onto every breaking story in the hopes that this time, yes this time, their stunted world view will be somehow vindicated….. only to end up like Wile E. Coyote waiting for gravity to get on with it.

…and links to some examples worth noting…

  • Some classic unhinged fascist/right wing hate mongering tactics get scrutinized by David at Ornicus, and Skippy as well.
  • From the Carpetbagger Report: For the House GOP, it’s important to punish those who are right
  • White House Press Secretary Tony Snow says:
The President has the ability to exercise his own authority if he thinks Congress has voted the wrong way.

Meanwhile the American people seem to be saying something entirely different:

As President George W. Bush prepares to publicly announce his “new way forward” in Iraq on Wednesday, including his strategy to send an additional 20,000 U.S. troops to Iraq, the American public is becoming increasingly skeptical that the conflict will or can be won.

According to a newly released USA Today/Gallup Poll, six out of ten Americans oppose a surge in U.S. troops, with 61 percent of those surveyed saying they are against the increase, compared to 26 percent who support a troop increase.

The President’s Iraq approval rating has also plummeted to record 26 percent low, as America enters the fourth year of the conflict with some 3,000 U.S. servicemen killed during the conflict.

The peoples Congress will hopefully have something to say and do about this situation…
