  • Billmon sets David Brooks straight on a few historical facts vs. Brooks’ penchant for historical revisionism and lack of facts.
  • Greg Sargent explains a bit of GOP rhetorical masturbation for the brain damaged amongst us:
John Boehner wants you to know that it’s OK if Republicans use images of people killed on 9/11 for political purposes, but at the same time, it’s very very bad indeed if Dems show pictures of flag-draped coffins.

  • Sadly No! pwns Emperor Darth Misha, which isn’t that hard. But, it is rather sad, since he nor the droogs who frequent his circle jerk comments seem to realize they’ve been bitch slapped. But, they sure are good at repeating “Boy! We sure did bitch slap Sadly No! Didn’t we?!” None of them seem to realize that the Sadly No! line of items were not even for sale and were a joke. PWNED.
  • Over at Michelle Malkin, they seem to think that the NY Times reporting that the Bush Administration sending more percision guided bombs to Israel (apparently they are running out) is the same as (wait for it)… if the NT Times had reported back in 1945 that the Truman Administration was sending atomic bombs to troops in the Pacific theater. The very confused wingnut asks: “What’s the difference between that and this?” Here’s a short primer for the poor dumb critter:

    - The existence of the atomic bomb was a top secret program. It’s existence was unknown to the Japanese. (presumably). The guided bombs on delivery to Israel are not top secret.

    - The information that the bombs were being delivered came from the Bush Administration itself. It would appear, if one were to actually think about it, that the Administration wishes people to know, (Hezzbollah, Syria and Iran perhaps?) that the Israeli supply of weapons will go unfettered and unthreatened. Pretty smart propaganda if you ask me.

Seems to me if certain wingnuts weren’t so eager to bash what they see as the liberal world, they might actually learn something.

Malkin is no fool of course. Creating a diversion and focusing on the messenger is a tried and true disinformation tactic of the right. The real story here is that the US provides 20% of the money for Israel’s annual military budget, and supplies the weapons. Israel has a direct line of credit to US military corporations. Hezzbollah’s weapons are supplied and financed by Syria and Iran.

That’s the story and the point.
